Dr. Eaves in New York?

Can you imagine anything that would cause Dr. Eaves, a Texas country boy, to voluntarily go to New York City in December? Only a certification class in Invisalign tooth straightening was enough of an incentive to take him to the Big Apple.

Those of you who are long-time patients know that Dr. Eaves spent over two years in traditional wire braces. When he learned about Invisalign, a method that straightens teeth with nearly invisible plastic aligners that are more comfortable and faster than traditional wires, he wanted to make them available to his patients.

The laboratory that makes the Invisalign aligners uses special impressions and photographs of a patient to determine the best method for straightening teeth. The lab uses optical scanners and lasers to measure the impressions, and uses computer models to determine the course of treatment.

Each patients case is turned into a 3-D graphic movie that is reviewed and approved by Dr. Eaves, then the aligners are precisely molded. Patients wear each clear aligner for two weeks, then move to the next aligner.

The average case only takes eleven months to complete, as opposed to the two to three years wire braces take. The aligners are removable, so patients can still brush and floss their teeth, thereby avoiding many of the problems developed by people in wire braces.

Almost every patient who needs orthodontic work can be treated with Invisalign.

If you would like to talk to us about the possibility of straightening your teeth, please call Tracy or email officemanager@smilebetter.com for a complimentary evaluation appointment. We have an actual aligner so you can see just how clear it is.
